The blog has been resurrected...let's try this again. I stuggled with knowing what I wanted to do with this blog, if anything. I've decided to just use it to jot down things I am thinking about, ways the Lord is challenging me, funny kid stories, and to document current projects I am working on. I'm doing it because I enjoy it and hope that someone else might enjoy it as well. If not, no worries, I still enjoy documenting what's been happening in the Scott family home!
I've been really meditating lately on the fact that I frequently pray for protection over my children. Asking the Lord to protect them from harm, from illnesses, from injuries but mostly from the evil in this world. I think these are wise things to be praying for, however, I've recently been convicted that I am praying way too much for protection and not nearly enough for their reactions to inevitable pain that will occur in our world. We live in a fallen, sinful world and we all face times of trouble and pain each day. It is how we respond to these times of troubles that sets us apart. Here are some verses I've been thinking about...
John 16:33 " I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
Romans 8:17 " Now if we are children, then we are heirs - heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory."
1 Peter 4:12-13 "Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Chirst, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed."
So, I am going to start praying more that pain and trials won't disrupt my children's walk with the Lord. I'm going to pray that they will cling to what they know to be truth even when every bit of their flesh is screaming otherwise. I'm going to pray that my children don't blame or curse the Lord for hard times that will come. I am going to pray that the Lord is already preparing my little children for what is ahead and showing me how to teach them that confidence! Whew! Big things to be praying about!

Power of a Choice
"Once that storm crashes in and she realizes she doesn't have the connection with God she needs to handle this kind of trauma, she has to immediately begin building up spiritual resources and her own intimacy with God, just like I did in the middle of my grief. Otherwise, she might be twisted into something she doesn't want to be by the bitterness of it all." -Brenda Stoaker
This was written by a woman who was dealing with the death of her mother from lung cancer. However, it is so applicable to us all. Unfortunately, we can not escape trauma in our life. After all, we live in a fallen world. Our only option is what we are going to do with that trauma. When you face a traumatic, painful event in your life are you going to go within yourself and attempt to deal with it, or will you rely on the power of Christ. There is only one choice which will empower and strengthen you. Unfortunately we've all seen what Brenda writes about. It is so easy to become twisted into a person you swore you'd never be. The bitterness of pain wants to quickly show it's face to the world. We have the power to choose!

Diaper Dilemmas
I've recently had a major diaper dilemma...ammonia!! Yuck! I tried everything to get rid of it. I heard about a product called Rockin Green (actually won a bag) and everything I read was fabulous. However, it didn't work for me. I eventually contacted the owner of Nicki's Diapers, where I bought all of my diapers. She was so kind and problem solved with me. I am excited to say, we are now ammonia free. She helped me set up a wash cycle to hopefully avoid this problem in future. Nicki is amazing!
I am currently having another issue with my diapers. Since using the Rockin Green my diapers have begun to leak! Some leak like crazy others just a bit, but it makes me sick to my stomach. They detergent had been recalled and apparently it can cause some damages bigger then expected. I have contact the company ( I must say even though I'm personally not a fan of the product, the costomer services is amazing!!) and am needing to send one to them to see what's up. I'm hoping they will replace these diapers. Wonderful Nicki wants to me let her know what happens. She just cares so much about her customers! Wonderful company! Check them out!
